PSALM 23 (with cross references & topics)
Psa 23:1-6 A psalm. Said to: address being lost; deal with sorrow; provide rest:
The LORD (YAHWEH) is My shepherd, I shall not be in want. HE makes Me lie down in green pastures (pastures of tender grass), HE leads Me beside still (quiet-- see John 14:27) waters, HE restores My soul. HE guides Me in paths of righteousness for HIS Name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death (darkest valley), I will fear no evil, for YOU are with Me; YOUR Rod & YOUR Staff, they comfort Me. YOU prepare a table before Me in the presence (facing) of My enemies; YOU anoint (make fat) My head with oil; My cup overflows.
Surely goodness & love will follow Me all the days of My life, & I will dwell in the House of the LORD (YAHWEH) forever (to length of days).

Isa 53:1-12 Who has believed OUR Message & to whom has the Arm of the LORD (YAHWEH) been revealed? Distant prophecy He grew up before HIM like a tender, innocent shoot, & like a root out of dry ground [in an unexpected place]. He had no beauty or majesty to attract any of us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him. He was despised & rejected by men, a man of sorrows, & familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces (GOD hid His face from all of us that we might respond by faith, that others would not be able to claim that we were just moved by pity), He was despised, & we esteemed Him not. Surely He took up our [mankind's] infirmities & carried our [mankind's] sorrows, yet we considered Him stricken by GOD (the Majestic ONE), smitten by HIM, & afflicted. But He was pierced (tormented) for our [mankind's] transgressions, He was crushed for our [mankind's] iniquities; the punishment that brought [can bring] us peace was upon Him, & by His wounds (bruises) we are [can be] healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; & the LORD (YAHWEH) has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed & afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth; He was led like a lamb to the slaughter, & as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so He did not open His mouth. By oppression (From arrest) & judgment He was taken away (by distress). And who can speak of His descendants? For He was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of MY People He was stricken. He was assigned a grave [unlike the 2 witnesses in PSALM 21 Reve<4>] with the wicked, & with the rich in His death, though He had done no violence, nor was there any deceit in His mouth. Yet it was the LORD'S (YAHWEH'S) Will [Isa 46:10 says I make known the end from the beginning] to crush Him & cause Him to suffer, & though the LORD (YOU) makes His life a guilt (sin) offering [we just saw that on Him was laid the iniquity of us all; Lev 4:3 says that if an anointed priest sins, He must bring a young bull without defect-- he himself was that sinless offering that God brought], afterward He will see His offspring & prolong [extend] His days [we just saw, who can speak of His descendants; how many days was it that he walked on earth before he ascended? How many graves were opened?], & Far Distant prophecy after the ascension the Will of the LORD (YAHWEH) will prosper in HIS Hand. After the suffering of His soul, HE will see the light of life (result of the suffering of His soul) & be satisfied [he will realize that his father did not forsake him after all]; by HIS Knowledge MY Righteous Servant will justify many (knowledge of HIM many will be justified) & HE will bear their iniquities. Therefore I will give HIM a portion among the great (many), & HE will divide the spoils with the strong, because He poured out His life unto death, & He was numbered with the transgressors. For He bore the sin of many, & made intercession for the transgressors. EOP

1stPet 2:21-25 Peter writing to Jewish Christians: To this You were called, because Christ (Christos) suffered, leaving You an example, that You should follow in His steps. He committed no sin, & no deceit was found in His mouth [ref. to Isa 53:9-- see at left, Isa. The significance of his having been assigned a grave was pointed out there-- note also that the assignment was both with those wicked & those rich (not all acquire wealth by being wicked). When they hurled their insults at Him, He did not retaliate; when He suffered, He made no threats. Instead, He entrusted himself (His cause) to HIM who judges justly. He himself bore Our sins in His body on (to) the tree, so that we all might die to sins & live for righteousness; by His wounds You have been healed spiritually. For You were like sheep, but now having ABC'd (admitted you were a sinner, believed in his capacity alone to save you & confessed before men that you were a sinner in need of Jesus) You have returned to the shepherd & overseer of Your souls.
