Psa 20:1-9 A psalm for the director of music (chief musician); perh. inspired by the events of 2ndSa 10-- the record of the defeat of the Ammonites after David became king:

  6 blessings pronounced "without the radar (not in prayer)":

  1. May the LORD (YAHWEH) answer You when You are in distress;
  2. may the Name of the GOD (Majestic ONE) of Jacob protect You (set You on a high place).
  3. May HE send You help from the sanctuary & grant You support from Zion.
  4. May HE remember all Your sacrifices & accept Your burnt offerings. SELAH
  5. May HE give You the desire of Your heart & make all Your plans succeed. We will shout for joy when You are victorious & will lift up Our banners in the Name of Our GOD (Majestic ONE).
  6. May the LORD (YAHWEH) grant all of Your requests. Now I know that the LORD (YAHWEH) saves HIS Anointed; HE answers Them from HIS Holy Heaven with the saving power (strength of salvation) of HIS Right Hand. Some trust in chariots & some in horses, but We trust in the Name of the LORD Our GOD (YAHWEH Our Majestic ONE). They are brought up to their knees & fall, but We rise up & stand firm.

  O LORD (YAHWEH), save the king! Answer (Save) Us when We call.

Isa <1> 40:1-3,5,10-11,13-15,22 <2> 61:7,9-11 <1> After Judah's captivity & return; Isaiah speaking as for God (God describing things): Comfort, comfort MY People; proclaim to her [Judah] that her hard service (appointed time) has been completed, that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the LORD'S (YAHWEH'S) Hand double for all her sins. A voice of 1 [John the Baptist] calling: 'In the desert prepare the way for the LORD; make straight in the wilderness a highway for Our GOD. Distant prophecy The Glory of the LORD (YAHWEH) will be revealed, & all mankind together will see it.' See, the Sovereign LORD (Authoritative YAHWEH) comes down to mankind with power (against the strong-- bringing the power-of-the-avenue, the intimate relationship in our hearts, whereby we approach God, loving him & his word, & freely receive from him), & HIS Arm [Jesus] rules for HIM [father GOD]. See, HIS Reward [victory over sin & death] is with Him [Jesus], & HIS Recompense [favor for doing God's will] accompanies Him. Far Distant prophecy HE tends HIS Flock like a shepherd: HE gathers the lambs [young sheep-- in PSALM 16 John<2> we saw that Jesus lays down His life for the sheep-- all who choose to invite him into his/her heart] in HIS Arms & carries Them [the lambs] close to HIS Heart; HE gently leads Those [the sheep] who have young. EOP Who has understood the Mind of the LORD (YAHWEH), or instructed HIM as HIS Counselor? Whom did the LORD (HE) consult to enlighten HIM? Surely the nations are like a drop in the bucket; they are regarded as dust on the scales. HE sits enthroned above the circles of the earth. <2> Far Distant prophecy); Isaiah yet speaking as for God (God describing things): Instead of Their shame MY People will receive a double portion; They will inherit a double portion in Their land. Their descendants will be known among the nations. EOP Isaiah commenting: I delight greatly in the LORD (YAHWEH); HE has clothed Me with garments of timely salvation & arrayed Me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest; so the Sovereign LORD (Authoritative YAHWEH) will make righteousness & praise spring up before all nations.

1stJoh 5:14-15 This is the confidence We have in approaching GOD (concerning HIM): that if We ask anything according to HIS Will, HE hears Us. And if We know that HE hears Us-- whatever We ask --We know that We have what We asked of HIM.
