Psa 14:1-7 For the director of music (chief musician). Said to: address being proud & purposeless; deal with atheists & heretics; provide justice & vindication. See PSALM 53 Psa(intro.). Texted in grape are the passages (vv. 2b-3) that are quoted in the N.T. (see PSALM 15 N.T. Quotes from PsalmsA.):

The fool (morally deficient one) says in his heart, 'There is no GOD (Majestic ONE).' They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. The LORD (YAHWEH) looks down from Heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek GOD (the Majestic ONE). All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt (stinking-- worthless, per Roma 3:12a); there is no one who does good, not even 1.

Will evildoers even learn-- those who devour MY People as men eat bread & who do not call on the LORD (YAHWEH)? There they are, overwhelmed with dread, for GOD (the Majestic ONE) is present in the company of the righteous. You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor, but the LORD (YAHWEH) is Their refuge. Oh, that eternal salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD (YAHWEH) restores the fortunes of HIS People, let Jacob rejoice & Israel be glad! I.e., not a prophecy, but "I know it'll happen somehow."

John <1> 1:1-11,14-15,17,23 <2> 3:29-30 <1>  In the beginning was the WORD (LOGOS), & the WORD (LOGOS) was with GOD (THEOS), & the WORD (LOGOS) was GOD (THEOS). He (the not yet incarnated Jesus) was an equal part of the godhead, the trinity. HE was with GOD (THEOS) in the beginning. Through HIM all things were made; without HIM nothing was made that has been made. In HIM was life, & that life was the spiritual light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood (overcome) it. There came a man who was sent from GOD (THEOS); His name was John the Baptist-- not Jesus' apostle/disciple John, who wrote the gospel & epistle of John, & Revelation. He came only as a witness to testify concerning that light [life descended], so that through Him all men might believe. He himself was not that light; He came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to every man was coming (who comes) into the world. HE was in the world-- not as a living being; HIS Own did not receive HIM. Then the WORD (LOGOS) became flesh [descended/reached down as Jesus-- became the word incarnate] & made His dwelling among us [the world's inhabitants]. This was He of whom I said, 'He who comes after Me has surpassed Me, because He was before Me.' The Law was given through Moses; grace & truth came through Jesus Christ. John further testified, quoting Isa 40:3 (see the passage to the right). <2> 'The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits & listens for him, & is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom's voice. That joy is mine, & it is now complete. He must become greater (more important); I must become less important.'

Isa 40:1-3,5 After Judah's captivity & return: Near prophecy Comfort, comfort MY People, says Your GOD (Majestic ONE). Speak tenderly to (the heart of) Jerusalem & proclaim to Her that Her hard service (appointed time) has been completed, that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the LORD'S Hand double for all her sins. voice of one prophesying about John the Baptist, calling: 'In the desert prepare (A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare) the way for the LORD (YAHWEH); make straight in the wilderness a 2-way highway for (the paths of) Our GOD (descending Majestic ONE-- whereby it will happen that his strength for us is our strength for him, in the sense that we can choose to do his will).' For the Mouth of the LORD (YAHWEH) has spoken. EOP S.a. PSALM 51 Mal.
